Hair Stylist

Job Overview

As a Hair Stylist, you’ll help clients look and feel their best through thoughtful consultations and skilled salon services. You’ll recommend styles and care routines that fit each client’s preferences, hair type, and goals. Your impact: By listening closely and delivering personalized services, you help clients feel confident and supported in caring for their hair.

Duties

• Provide hair styling, cutting, coloring, and hair care services; apply color theory to guide color choices.
• Consult with clients about their needs, explain service options, and maintain clear client communication.
• Follow sanitation practices for tools, workstations, and service areas.
• Support salon operations through front desk tasks, salon software, and MINDBODY, a salon and wellness management platform; assist with store management as needed.
• When qualified and requested, provide services such as hair extensions, hair threading, barbering, straight razor work, eyelash extensions, makeup application, and nail care; support retail sales and appropriate upselling.

Experience

• Experience working in the beauty industry and a background in cosmetology are preferred; relevant licensing must meet applicable local requirements.
• Strong customer service, communication skills, and attention to sanitation are essential.
• Hair styling and hair coloring skills are important; familiarity with salon software is helpful.
• Retail math, mentoring, and store management experience are nice to have.
• Experience with hair extensions, barbering, straight razor techniques, hair threading, eyelash extensions, makeup application, or nail care is a plus.

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
