Position Overview

NuWest is seeking an experienced MRI Technologist for a 13-week travel assignment in Miami, Florida. This position supports an academic, research-oriented MRI environment that uses specialized scanning protocols. The ideal candidate is a skilled, detail-oriented technologist who can work independently and be productive from day one. Experience with Siemens 3T platforms or in clinical trial and research settings is highly valued.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality MRI examinations according to physician orders and established protocols, including specialized and research-based scanning protocols
• Operate and monitor MRI scanner hardware and software, including Siemens 3T platforms where applicable, optimizing image quality and adjusting parameters as needed
• Screen patients and research participants for MRI safety, including implants, devices, and contraindications, and maintain a safe MRI environment (Zone IV)
• Explain procedures to patients, obtain relevant history, and position them correctly with the appropriate coils and comfort measures
• Administer contrast media as permitted by scope of practice and monitor patients before, during, and after scans
• Review images for diagnostic quality and completeness, and accurately process, label, and transfer them to PACS or research data systems
• Document exams, patient information, and protocol details accurately in accordance with study and department requirements
• Follow all safety, infection control, HIPAA, and regulatory standards, and collaborate with radiologists, researchers, and clinical staff

Required Qualifications

• Active ARRT certification in MRI
• Valid Florida state license
• Prior experience as an MRI Technologist
• Ability to work three 12-hour shifts per week, including weekends
• Ability to pass required background checks and drug screening
